I'm trying to identify the Fiat twin cam used in my kit car. It's supposed to be a 1600 and thought to come from a 124 Spider, that's about all I know. It's covered in a rather thick coat of paint, so it's a bit difficult to see, but it has something like the following numbers stamped on it,
On the head (by the spark plugs) it has 4372297
Intake manifold 4970
Ex manifold 4186429
Block (ex side) 9L19
Block (intake side) couldn't make this out very well, but I think it was 4335634
The manifolds may well not be standard, but can anything be deduced from the numbers on the head and block? These are all I can see.
I've attached a couple of pics to help out.
Help identify my engine! (Fiat twin cam of some description)

Chris, hi
That head number probably id's it as a Fiat 131 1585cc unit but to be sure you need to measure the stroke thru a spark plug hole carefully (don't get anything caught on the valves), it would be 71.5mm.
You will need to post superior photos, I have deleted them, way too big in area and pixel size, use smaller size (Pixresizer can be downloaded to resize) and better definition. There is a guideline in Reader's cars on that, thanks.

Apologies - I'd come back to delete the photos! Like you say they were a little large......
Some other details, the distributor attaches to the block towards the front on the intake side and the gearbox is said to come from a Fiat 131, so despite being told the engine was from a 124 that might back up what you've just said.
