Ok thanks Guy, I will go with 1.5" I'm reluctant to go larger anyway as this is RHD so the the space is going to be limited with the steering column, brake booster, master cylinder along with trying to fit the long pipes in. Not nearly as bad as it would be in a 124, but it will still be a close fit.
