Hello Guy,
My Fiat 1995 2.0ltr engine originally had a front engine pulley for 3 belts i.e. water pump, power steering and Air conditioning. Now the engine is in my 124 and has no Air Con. or Power Steering, so the pulley is 2/3rds obsolete. I have another single belt pulley BUT it is a smaller diameter and the spigot is a couple of mm too short. The question is. Can I machine a spacer to go between the pulley and timing belt sprocket? OK technically I can machine one but is it advisable? Or am I going to give myself all sorts of balance problems? The weight difference is quite substantial and I figure the engine may spin a bit freer.
Thanks Guy
Still a great forum
Regards
Gill

Fiat engine pulleys
Hi Guy,
Here's a photo of the pulleys.
I'm even more confused now. The timing mark on the smaller pulley is also in a completely diferent postion. I think maybe the engine's original 3 belt one would be best to use. What do you think?
Thank you
Gill
