Piston Rings

In these days it is getting very hard to get oversied parts for a lot of engines. After cleaning, honing, measuring the cylinder liners there was the need for a 0.25 millimetr oversize ring. After doing some reserch it is only possible to get the (STD) standard size ring or the 0.50 millimeter oversize but with this one there is a lot to take off to get the right ring end gap almost 1.3 millimetrs. Did anyone have done this with this much taking off? Any help would be gratly appreciated. Mr. Guy i would like your opinion too.
