Twin Cam to Type 9 Gearbox
I have been sent a bellhousing from Poland was supposed to fit the Fiat twin cam.
However none of the holes line up. Am I missing an adaptor plate or have I been sold a pup?
It has the numbers 040383 AK132 4 in the casting.
UPDATE! Pup it is....Please read on.

Re: Twin Cam to Type 9 Gearbox
Smaller photo's, please !
I have the GCRE Type 9 to TC conversion. It takes the Fiat bellhousing, bolted via an adapter plate to the Type 9 gearbox face.
Flywheel is Fiat TC, which has a pressed in brass spigot to support the first motion shaft. Clutch is Ford RS2000
Apologies to all for poor quality photos attached, they weren't really meant for publication.
From memory - Better detail to be found in Guy's first book.

Re: Twin Cam to Type 9 Gearbox
TC21 that is not a TC bellhousing, dunno about the gearbox, on the starter is on the same side as the clutch actuating arm ie: the inlet side.
Whoever sold you that combo has misled you I suppose or - at best - 'misunderstood' your requirement.

I have reduced your gigantic photos to 33% of original, could go smaller. I future please take the time to actually check what you have uploaded and edit accordingly - I suggest the use of the excellent free 'Pixresizer'.

Re: Twin Cam to Type 9 Gearbox
Sorry about the photos. I have Deleted them now the "truth" is out, I am a bit of a novice on forums I'm afraid.
Anyhow looks like I have the wrong bits.
Next question is does anyone have the right bits I need?
I would need the TC bellhousing, bearing, actuator arm etc plus an adaptor plate.
Anyone selling all or any of these please?

Re: Twin Cam to Type 9 Gearbox
You can make the adaptor plate by modifying original Ford Sierra bellhousing, i did it this way to my Fiat TC engine and it worked good. I have cut out the bellhousing using angle grinder and then i have made the remaining cast iron plate flat on a lathe. Drilled some holes and tapped it all. I made the gearbox as quick relase using allen key M10 screws from the gearbox side(hope this is described correctly. You can also fit Ford Mondeo hydraulic relace bearing but this requires pedal conversion also to be done.
I do not have any photos of the setup as it is already sold but i remember that i made it in one day so it was not too difficult job. Of course steel or alloy adapter plate would be better but that solution worked fine for me.

Apologies for using the discussion for another issue, but it relates to Guy's previous comment.
