hi guy , i just tested my 124 16 v race car today with the new winged sump you helped me design. It works great thanks again for your help.
after fitting a washer in the oil pump to increase the pressure the motor at high revs is running 100psi .Do you think this is to high? I will post pitures of the sump very soon. thanks Nathan

Nathan, hi

I need more info here:

A. Please tell me the temperature rpm characteristic:
1. Pressure at start - cold - at idle and up to 1500 rpm
2. Pressure hot oil (85-95 deg C is my recommended range) at 1000, 3000 and 6000 rpm.

B. Tell me the oil system accessories fitted (remote filter, oil cooler rows and size) oil hose diameter and approx length of hose.

C. The exact oil pressure instrument and whether it's electric or capillary.

The gear pump on the 131 2 liter block - if that is what you are using produces a flow characteristic that varies greatly with speed. In other words the pressure will vary with speed. You do not need more than 55-60psi max under load at highest rpm, more need not be a catastrophe, but too much will blow out the engine seals and just rob power.
