Final grind before build on a 45/40 big valve rally TC head for an 1800 124 Abarth Spider for client Achy Leousis in Greece. Seats are heat-treated copper beryllium inlet and KS sintered nickel-chrome-steel ex.
I use 'Neway' cutters on the soft CuBe seats, work beautifully in that soft, sticky material, like 'a hot knife thru butter' as the saying goes, gorgeous golden swarf just 'peels' off, and the marvellous & hyper-accurate Peg orbital grinder on the harder ex seats.

- alloy steel ex insert ground 45 x 70 deg and ready for final blending with ATA 120grit band and lap, note radius/blend work in coolant galleries - this is important on many high output 8v units.

- Just 2 valves fitted on No1 chamber, inlet locked at 5mm lift at tdc, winding the exhaust valve thru its lift phase, checking for 'valve clash'. Later I will double check with a dummy belt on, if it's wrong, it all comes apart again.

- Finished head shimmed, timed and ready to fit, this is a GC proven '100bhp + per liter' head with torque curve capability about 'as good as it gets'.
