Greetings: I'll try to post a photo here, and if this works, I'll update with a few more photos!

This is an SCCA F-production Fiat 124 Spider with a 1756cc TC motor and 8v head: The entire project was developed using GC's Work Shop Manual, web-site, and GC 8 valve head prep DVD.

Head: prepared to GC specs
SS valves, standard size
Valve springs to GC specs
Pittatore cams
Carbs: dual 40 IDF, or single 40 DCNF
Block:
Bored .040 over
Arias forged pistons, about 11.5:1CR
Stock rods: lightened and rebalanced with ARP rod bolts (from 351 Cleveland)
Stock crank: lightened, knife-edged and rebalanced, with crank scraper
3 Quart Accusump and 16 row Mocal oil cooler
Ron Davis aluminum small-block Chevy radiator
QuarterMaster 2 disc Pro-Series clutch mated to flexplate and ringgear
Transmission: Fiat 5 speed mated to BMW 528 guibo
Differential: Fiat 4.1/4.3; welded
Total weight: 1715 lbs, less driver

Nice car Jim,
The Ford 351 cleveland rod bolts on Fiat rods? was this a direct swap, or did you need to do some resizing to get them to fit?
also what suspension are you running in the car?

The 351 Cleveland rod bolts fit nicely by honing about .015" from the rods to give a slight interference fit. Rod bolts torqued to 50 ft.lbs. I run these to 9000 rpm.

Suspension is 650 springs front , 250 rear; Koni yellow shocks; 1" front sway bar. Delrin bushings on front control arms; Rear trailing arms replaced with steel tubing and heim joints. Panhard bar attachment point at the chassis is reinforced with a box-doubler, as this tends to be a weak point.

Lovely car, a real jewel and I can't get over how tiny compared with the "wide boy" Mazda behind you. Which raises a question - is the Mazda in a different class which allows body mods vs your bodywork which is standard?

How well does a 4.1/4.3 (welded) diff do on a track? What speeds and rpm do you achieve?

What are the gear ratios are you using ?

Power and torque data ?
