Guy,
I have a 1992 Integrale Evo 16V a long term project you may recall or be familiar with. Could you tell me if a crankshaft from a Fiat Coupe 16V engine can be used as a direct replacement? Do you know if it is in fact the same crank under a different part number? Looking though the Fiat Eper part DVD there seems to be 4 different part numbers for crankshafts associated with both the Integrale and Fiat coupe 16V engines, do you know if these are all interchangable? Could you describe the main differences if any? The reason I am asking this is that recently I have aquired a brand new crankshaft from a friend of mine that he says is from a Fiat Coupe. Although it looks very very similar and measures up correctly I am reluctant to commit it to my project without professional confirmation that it will be fit for purpose.
(The only differences seem to be the weight sizes either side of the centre main, Integrale crank has Lancia and part number cast in, and Fiat one has Fiat cast but no number)
Many Thanks
Dave H

Re: Integrale Crankshaft question
Yes, they are directly interchangeable. You must get the new crank fw assy balanced.
BTW - If you buy a new crank - it must have the distinctive grey color that results from nitrocarburising. I had sight of a 'new ' one supposedly OE that was not last year, was bare shiny steel all over and I insisted the firm who supplied replace it with the real thing. No idea of its origin, 'back door' I guess.

- Genuine OE 16 crank - kindof green- grey when new, nitorcarburised layer normally turns black as the carburised layer absorbs oil.

Thankyou for your reply Guy, yes it is the light grey colour as in your picture.
