Hello Guy,

I have seen your shimming tool in your How to shim a SOHC head.
Is it possible to make a good picture from the side?
Maybe with some dimensions?

I ask because I had bought a tool from Fiat and this don't works.
It's a binder for the valve but then I need a second tool that the valve keeps down.
Your tool make this together and it's much easier to change the shim.

Thanks! Martin

See photos, part numbers as shown, buy OE, you'll never be able to make one half as good.

Hello Guy.
I have the first tool of you pictures.
Is the sencond tool of the same picture too hold the valve down?

I thought about laser cutting for the tool...

That's right, it's curved inner edge slips under the cam body and it has special edges both sides to grip whichever bucket you're doing to hold the valve down. You can depress the valve with the pressure lever or just turn the cam to full lift to get it in.

Hope the photos help some.
