Finding TDC accurately.

Hello everyone,

How does one find top dead center most accurately?

I have my shortblock Fiat TC hanging in the engine stand and I am in the process of marking up for machining for installing the FORD EDIS 36-1 trigger wheel. While setting up a micrometer dial mounted in a magnetic stand I came to think that there might be a smarter/better method of doing this.

All the best
to you and yours.

This, from the GC Virtual Workshop (I hope) should help:

and

If you have any questions beyond that, feel free!

Hi Guy,
and thanks.

It seems I was doing it the right way, then.
The thought just struck, that there might be a trick to finding TDC I had not seen yet.

All the best,
