I have recently joined this site, so thought I¢ž¢d post a few pictures of my Fiat/Lancia TC powered Fisher Fury. I¢ž¢ve seen a couple of posts on here asking if the TC engine will fit in a …œSeven‚ style car, and the answer is yes‚¦.Just. The Fisher Fury is derived from the Sylva Striker, which is one of the many Lotus Seven inspired kit cars.
Alas I can claim no credit for the build as this was carried out by the previous owner, who just likes building cars. He decided to sell the Fury in order to finance a TR6 rebuild project. That said, one of the reasons for me buying it was so that I had a car I would enjoy working on, with plenty of opportunity for modification and improvement, especially the engine, at some point in the future.
The engine is a standard, but refurbished, 2L Lancia Beta unit with shallow big wing sump (with trap doors) to GC design.
Carbs are twin Dellortos DHLA 40s, with 32mm chokes.
Front uprights are from Mk1 Escort, as is the live rear axle, (and registration number).
Gearbox is Fiat 131 with Arbarth extension on the selector.
Custom made propshaft.
Wheels are 13‚ Ford RS four spoke.
Weight without driver approximately 540Kg
This is the first time I¢ž¢ve owned a car with the Fiat TC engine and I have to say I love it. The Fury is very much set up for road use, and is great fun to drive. Whilst the 32mm chokes probably limit the top end power, this set up coupled with the inherent torque from the engine does give the car fantastic mid range acceleration and make it very easy to use in traffic.
