TC Dyno sheet, what's wrong?

Competition engines and 'live' projects only. Good photos to illustrate your post are expected.

Hello,

Please can you clarify the intake on your engine? Even a picture?
The flat torque curve looks very similar to somthing I have seen.

Here is a shot of the intake.

This engine is about fifth engine I am trying to get good power, and everything I do seems to fail.
Two things that have remained the same, are cams and tube headers. I believe one of both restrict the power. It might be also as small thing as cam timing, but I don't really know what timing I should try.
If I have understood right, biggest problem is that torque goes down before 6000 rpm, but also the maximum torque is somewhat low?
I can't believe this could be a compression problem, as I had detonation problems with stock ignition.

You've built, what, 5 or 6 and the power is still 'way off'?!

I doubt it's the header - at 26" it's plenty long. It won't be just cam timing.

Again I say:

Something to look at, is the fuel settings- against ignition/timing- against airflow. At least one of these is wrong.
Has the engine been run without filters? And what intake shape and space is within the filter?
Is the ignition advancing enough and set correctly?
What is the fuel map showing?

I have recently personally experiened the loss of power from incorrect cam timing. I've seen a drop from 152 lb/ft to 137 and from 190+bhp to 160.

Hopefully your issues are as simple as that.

Hello, Thanks for the picture. Sorry for my delay in posting a reply.
The problem I have seen on the dyno with many set up's is the amount of air avalible for the engine to pull in. Not enough and the torque curve is flat very much like yours.

I must say I would agree with GC.

However I would ask if you have any velocity stacks inside the air filters?
Any informatio on lamda and ignition would be a help to solve your problem.

Also worth remembering you can have to much advance without detenation!!

Hope this helps
feel free to PM me any map details
