Maybe you can use a V-band clamp type system to rejoin the parts.(like used on a turbo). normally quite expensive but i could imagine that a similar clamping system could be made using a jubilee clip and some metal

Unfortuantly the araldite must have had a small void in it leading to some leakage on the join. Good news was that on the track it only ran at 80 degrees with 6 mm bypass.
I have re-drilled my spare thermostat with a 3 mm drilling without dissasembly. I had to use a carbide burr on the pillar drill to create a flat drilling surface inside the thermostat to radiator top hose exit, then I lined up a 3mm drill in the same place I drill before. I did not want to make a 6mm drilling as it was more difficult to align from the oppostie side of the thermostat face. I hope this will suffice.
