Thanks again Guy I really appreciate your help on this, when the engine is stripped down I¢ž¢ll get back to you and begin the process to make good base for as much hp as possible.

Might have considered starting with a Scorpion/Monte Carlo. Good handling, stronger infrastructire and enough engine bay to put in a twin cam, Alfa V6 or even a small V8. Face it, the size of the X/19 is a limiting factor. I've had a couple myself and they are extremely fun cars, but as you're finding out, they can only be altered so far without having to rebuild literally the whole rear of the car.(if you go with a twin cam to get the horsepower you want.) If you stay with the 8V, go for a reliable 135 bhp then add the stiffest suspension you can find and go have fun. It is what it is and no more. Good luck on your project.
