Guy,
One of your recommendations was installation of an oil cooler when building the new “racing” engine.
I am getting close to engine build and need to resolve the issue and get the parts.
I have a 15 row oil cooler (used). It was tested by a trusted local radiator guys and declared "air tight".
However, I now what happens when your oil cooler starts leaking oil while performance driving, and want to avoid the consequences of hot oil spraying on a hot engine .... (I do even dare name the consequences).
It looks like buying a new one is a much safer solution.
What size would you recommend. I was thinking of a bigger one than 13 row. (say 15-16 row). The engine is expected to get up to 180 bhp, and 13 row seems too small.
Secondly I need a sandwich plate. I am thinking about a thermostatic one , which prevents cool oil to be circulated through the oil cooler until the temperature is high enough and cooling oil makes sense.
Question: I have power steering installed and do not want to give it up. Will this in any way collide with sandwich plate /oil cooler installation ?) i
I as am I going to a standard (not dry sump) thus I need to think about oil pressure while hard breaking and on sharp/long curves at high speeds. I believe two things need to be installed :
- one: uprated the oil pump
- two: a big wing oil pan
Does it make sense – any suggestions/recommendations ?

Good quality photo of engine bay showing oil filter housing region please! Can't remember the layout with PAS.
Can't believe you're running PAS anyway! Why not remove?

Guy ,
Here is the picture of PAS are of engine bay.
This is the space for oil cooler ( air intakes will be changed along with th aif filter box ).
RE : PAS: I am an old man ... and love my PS while maneuvering on parking lots.
It really is a great convenience , fighting with no PAS during the summer days in a car w/o air conditioning in a driving suite , helmet , racing underwear - I get too hot and hate fighting with turning the wheel...
I know this is irrational and stupid , but this is how I like it.

PS:
Is this going to be the only sports car with PAS?
( I am not planning to install AC - thought roof air vent is under pasive consideration!)

Tomek,
I have standard 3.1 , though I know the abarths had 2.8 lock to lock.
