Will DCOE fit in Fiat 131 engine bay ?

Post by miro-1980 »

Dear Guy ,

Will two Webers 45 DCOE fit in the 131 ebgine bay?

I am afraid that the proximity of the vacuum booster and beak pump to the block will make it difficult if not impossible.

Would the M131 CG inlet manifold solve the space problem ? ( Is it for IDF or for DCOE ?)

Thanks again, Guy!

Will have to do some experimenting ....

Once I finally resolve it I will make a report and post it for future reference

I've got a Ritmo/Strada 130TC engine including carburators and air filter box in my LHD 131.

I had to remove the brake booster and put a pedal box (in the passenger compartment) with to master pumps (one for the front and one for the rear brakes). The distributor is the one from the Ritmo. I had to make a cutout in the wall between the engine bay and the passenger compartment. I even had to change the heater fan.

I doubt that there is room for 2x DCOE and a brake booster in a LHD 131. I've added a picture of my installation, but the car is in pieces this winter so I don't have any pictures of the brake installation inside the car.

Hi,

Thanks very much.

I just found this on a 124 forum in New Zeland !

It looks exactly like yours. It is mounted on 40 DCOE 27

What I want to do ( since DCOE is not a viable option for me) is to take the airbox and remanufacture it ( modify it if possible to fit my 44 IDF's .

I WANT this red Abarth authentic steel cover over my carbs!

Any idea about availibility of abarth airbox for IDF's ?

UPDATE: I JUST GOT ONE FOR A "REASONABLE" PRICE IN NEW ZELAND
