Hi to all,
It's finally time to introduce myself to the GCRE Community, this is a fantastic forum with some invaluable information and I feel privileged to be a part of it!
First and foremost is my 1971 Datsun 1600 which I did my first race in the UK at the end of October at Mallory Park, I can't wait for next year to go to all the big name circuits that I've only seen on tv back home in Australia.
It runs an L20 (2 litre 4 cylinder version of the big Z sixes) which is of unknown spec, 260Z 5 speed to a locked diff which is IRS as standard, 4 wheels discs, 14x7 wheels and lots of fun!
Another vehicle which came over from Australia with me is my 1979 Alfetta GTV, completely stock and 70,000 kms from new, is about to get some GCRE DVD inspired cylinder head work.
Another car which made the long journey was my 1993 Ford Capri Club Sprint, a Mazda 323 based convertible unique to Australia and built for (eventually unsuccessful) export to the US...I can't wait to go to my first Capri show in the UK to see what they say!
I've always wanted a Fiat 131 Sport and I saw one on the internet a few months ago, turned out to be worse than the photos...
That's it for the moment, a few jobs to do over the winter on the Datsun and I'll keep you all up-to-date on my racing next year.
Niftynic
PS Did I mention the cars I've left at home? Fiat 850, a couple of Datsuns, a couple of Escorts, Ford Falcon ute & van, Chrysler Convertible, Holden Torana Hatch and Sedan... and a mini!
