Philippe,

I basically need information how different members of FIA in Europe i.e Automobile Club de France (ACF) or Federation Francaise du Sport Automobile (FFSA) ( whichever organization regulates rallies in France ) regulate the historic rallies.

I mean general regulations covering all rallies and not specific regulations for a specific rally of issued by a club which organiozes the event.

I need pretty basic information as follows :

1. What cars are allowed :

for example:
Category A/ cars homologated before 1964
Category B/ cars homologated 1965 -1975
Category C - cars homologated 1976 - 1981

2/ What cars are excluded :

for example :
1/ Group B car banned by FIA
2/ four wheel drive turbo cars

3/ How are they classified

for example :
in categories A, B C respectively:

1/ Up to 1300cc
2/ 1301cc to 1600cc
3/ 1601cc to 2000cc
4/ Over 2001cc
5/ cars having engines with more than one camshaft and more than two valves per cylinder

3/ What modifications are allowed :

for example :
a/ Modifications are only allowed if they were
available before:
- 1 January 1968 for Historic Category 1 Rally Cars.
- 1 January 1975 for Historic Category 2 Rally Cars.
- 1 January 1982 for Historic Category 3 Rally Cars.

b/ All modifications must not exceed those allowed by Appendix J appropriate for the homologation date of the car :

4/ What are the safety requirements

for example:
- can a roll cage/ safety belts/ seats/helmets/overalls/ extinguishers be as originally homologated ( allowed by appendix J), or
- they must must meet current FIA appendix J standards ( or may be with expired homologation not exceeding 10 years).

5/ What license must the driver / co driver have

for example:
a/ national historic stage rally license
or
b/ any national stage rally license

6/ How does one obtain such license ?

1/
training ( hours),
2/ exam ( how hard an extensive)
4/ medical examination / declaration, ( psychological tests), etc., ( what is the scope)
3/ practice ( number of rallies many rallies of the a specific kind/level finished as a practical requirement

Miro

PS: if anyone has such info about Historic Rally Regulations in Europe I would appreciate sharing it with me.

Note: I an interested in general regulations issued by the national level authority and not specific supplementary regulations issued by the organized for a specific rally event.

Here is the beginning of the explanation of French regulation in France for historical hillclimb races:
***
Eligibles cars :
Homologated cars which has an Historic Technical Passport (PTH or PTN) in accordance with standard regulation
Nota: PTH and PTN are documents that prove that the car model has competed in accordance with FIA form.

Cars are divided in 4 categories:
- Category 1 1919-1969
- Category 2 from 1970 to 1975
- Category 3 from 1976 to 1981
- Category 4: only single seater and two-seater racing cars from 1919 to 1985 (after 1982 only Ford formulas).
In each category, there are classes depending on engine size and types of vehicules(cars closed, open, GT, GTS)

All are subject to safety regulations of the FFSA-FIA.

DRIVERS:
All have FFSA driving license or from their respective countries.(FFSA means Federation Française de Sport Automobile)

French Historical Hillclimb Championship
Points are according to rank in categories and classes
