Alfa GTV 2000 1983

Post by DesSlade »

Track Day, in my Son's Alfa GTV 1983, (Alfetta) it is a 2lit that has been made to look like a 3lit GTV without the bonnet ( 3 Lit Limited to South Africa)

Hello Des,

Beautiful photo of a stunning car!!

Love the rims and the originality of the car. We are running a 2000 GTV in Clubmans Class at Killarney in Cape Town.

Is Glen Gibbons and Dawie De Villiers still around and involved in tuning Alfas up country?

Rear wheel drive is still much more fun!!!

What spec motor are you running, if I may ask?

Greetings,

Ernst

This car is raced by a joungster called Cody Jenkins and built and prepared by Anthony Jenkins.

I have put my time and 2 cents into it as well.

Engine built and tuned after blowing head gasket a few times. As Guy says it is the small things that people overlook when building!!

The engine lasted the whole season and 2 race meets. I took the head off to increase compression this week, as the head needed a skim of about 1mm.

Engine was still in perfect condition!!

Thanks Ernst,

As quoted, the car belongs to my Son.

The motor is standard, the previous owner stated that it has 159 pistons in but we doubt that.
Will be removing the motor next month to freshen up and a couple of mods depending on our budget?

Dawie is still around, operates from Zwartkops, still involved with all the Alfas.

As u can see, it has the five stud hubs, BMW breaks, 3lit Torsion bars and shortened springs at the rear, handles well. (too stiff for the road, very uncomfortable)

And your car, what mods?

thank you for now.
