Intake Horn for Weber DGV

Hello Folks,

I thought I'd share information about a nice intake horn that I fitted to my 32/36 DGV carb'. With permission of GC I can share the details of supplier, Pierce Manifolds in the States. I have not done a dyno' test after removing the choke plates (not needed) and fitting the intake horn, but given the sharp edges the DGV intake has the manifold can only do good and must surely increase flow as Pierce advertised. What I can say is that throttle response felt slightly better, and the engine seemed slightly smoother but I know one can easily image improvements when changes have been made; a bit like when I was a teenager telling my mates that my first car (80 bhp) must make at least 85 bhp after fitting a K&N air filter! But notwithstanding 'expected' improvements, the car certainly felt better to drive, and why wouldn't it. The good news, the air horn is only $49.

The last photo shows it in my airbox, the small aperture certainly made made fitting it a challenge and I ended up buying crows-foot spanners to gain access to the bolts. In sum, it is nicely made and cheap way to make small improvements.

Hi Phil,

I always had my doubts about the sharp intake of the DGCV and the absence of horns. Thanks for sharing.
