Cummins-Railton replica

This machine is being built by a very talented friend of mine called Terrance. I saw him today and he gave me permission to post some photos of his Cummins-Railton car on Guy's forum. He is not looking to use this as a means of generating business, he already has more work than he can handle so please do not ask for his contact details. I am posting this purely as a fantastic example of one man's extraordinary engineering talent.

It is modelled on the classic Napier-Railton which I am sure many on this forum have seen pictured on Brooklands with all four wheels in the air. It has a 6.7 l ISB Cummins Diesel engine. It is super- and turbo charged, with fabricated charge coolers following each stage of compression. A marine water pump is used for the charge cooler water flow. Approximately 580 bhp is anticipated with the current ECU with in excess of 1000 lb ft of torque. The chassis and much of the running gear was fabricated by Terrance including the 'banana bunch' exhaust manifold where each of the primary pipes are equal length. Why build such a beast? one could ask. The answer is because Terrance has always wanted to and because he can. If you are attending the Goodwood festival of Speed this weekend (12-14 July) the car will be on display there.

Enjoy,
Tim
