I think the wheels need a centre bore of 58 (not 57) mm -- the factory tend to say 58.1mm, but............ do check!

Inner races stuck on hubs is pretty common. The safest way I've found to do it if either to mask up the top portion of the stub axle and run a bead of MIG down it, quench quickly with water and then from the top down (and wearing safety goggles) bop it with a cold chisel or do the same with a TIG torch (but don't do the bead!).

Basically, this puts a focussed line of heat in the shell, the quenching over-tempers it and makes it brittle, and the cold chisel cracks it along the weld bead. You can then just prise it off with an unloved screwdriver (or repeat on the other side).

Great project!

Nice tips I shall keep in mind, thanks.

Meantime, firewall is going in. With access panel protrusion for more airbox room. Raised the package shelf to max available as interior space there is pretty unseless and additional engine bay space will be sweet. We need to talk about the gasket/mounting configuration, But with a panel gasket, my newly crafted tunnel membrane, use of bulkhead connectors for brake/cluth lines, use of bulkhead wiring sockets, and of course, all the joint line welds, I am hoping interior fume penetration should be minimal, if at all. Note access panel should not impact rigidity given TMH cross member and the rear roll bars tying all the way down to the "frame rails". The new firewall's welds into good metal, roll beads, and angle iron frame will add to strength. New steel on rear shelf over exhaust is in as well. Vintage Customs have communicated very frequently and we've traded many pics and diagrams to ensure execution is on plan.
