Couple of shots included here kindly sent me by member Mick Wood, showing cell test in Turin where the car has been converted to Kugelfischer injection after Mick's class win the in the FIA historic round in France in the late summer.

Then it was on the 45 DCOE you can see in the picture. Power then was 193 but with a very healthy torque curve and is now 214bh @ 8000 and still climbing though the decision was taken to cap the rpm on the rolling road to cap the speed at 8. Giovanni Baldi (ex Abarth Head of Test) did the rally support for Mick and undertook various jobs on the car incl the FI conversion. This engine is the 'scratch-built' GC one and most of the prep is on show in the GC 'Virtual Workshop'. Driver on the French event (in an alpine region) was the notable Bill Gwynne who runs and rally school and among other things was Chief Test driver at Prodrive, Mick was co-driver/navigator. Very gracious - and typical - of Mick to hand over the wheel I have to say.

I wanted to gt something on the site before the memory fades, I don't normally do '3rd party posts'. I am sure Mick will do his own post when he has time.

thanks for posting this up GC - I am now just waiting to get my hands on this. Probably need to find an event in march/April to give it a go - possibly Majorca?

I can only weep when I see a car like this, there is only one Abarth and its a Stradale in the USA,it's in our Club FLU.I have had the pleasure of actually looking at and photographing the beast to see what was actually done to the car and how it was screwed together.I can only admire them from pictures. An actual surviving competion car is a real treat to see.keep the pictures coming!
