Thanks Tom,

A 1962 Fiat 1500. This was the best Fiat that my dad owned. This car was original.

Wish we never sold it.

You may want to be a bit more careful with the paint work. Even tho you will probably polish it later, it's a waste to damage it even more now. Working on that steering rack is a lot "safer" if you'd at least put a bit of cardboard between the rack and the trunk lid. Proper would be not to use the trunk as a work bench, but I know how these things happen. I have a few cars with things stuffed on them in the workshop as well, but they have cardboard or plaids on the paintwork to protect them.

Hi Rishal

Good work with what looks like limited resources.

I'm 32 and even with my photographic memory I can't ever rember seeing any Fiat 124 saloons on Uk roads, they where sold here in their thousands aswell......now judging by how rotten that one is in a place like South Africa its no wonder, they must of all turned to dust within 6 months of coming off the production line!

This is a 2 liter engine that was taken out of a 131 superstrada. Sump was removed so that it could be cleaned, as well as the siff. Block was then painted with high heat black. Crank and rods are stock. Cylinder head was not removed so not sure on the piston size and compression.

Can you do something about your photo quality please? They look rather 'fuzzy'. Taken with mobile phone?

Let me know by pm if this is a problem for you please.

Thanks,

Hi Guy, i think Rishal takes photos with traditional camera and then scans them. They look just like that and some of them have a name of "Scan..." wich is generated by scanner. I'm I right?

Otherwise nice project!

Yes, traditional camera and then scanned. Mobile phone as well. Sorry for the bad quality pictures. At that time I did not know about this forum so image quality never crossed my mind. I still have more pictures to post so please forgive me for quality, but the good news is that I now own a digital camera.

Well done Rishal.

Doing well with the limited resources.
I know how that is. I see some cheap tools on your bench the same as I bought here one time. Unfortunately they didn't last long. The screwdriver heads you have in the red rubber thing is the same as I have (had).
I used it on some tight screws and the bits actually twisted and broke before the screw even moved!

Do you have a torque wrench?

Regards

Chris
