Always nice to see someone build and set up his own machine and getting good results. The more 'surprising' the original choice of car, the nicer.
Very good job at developing your engine like this!

A lot of people that get to drive well tuned and ajusted, powerful road cars, remark them as "I thought it would much more powerful, this feels tame". Then they get into their own cars that they claim are speed monsters and try to keep up. With little exceptions, they suddenly realize that the lack of power change they feel is not because there isn't a lot more power higher in the rev range, but the fact that it's already there in the bottom end. On public roads, you don't scream around in the top 2000 RPM all the time. If you tune your road car to be able to do only that, you'll have a hard time catching up to well adjusted Ladas.

Your posts are quality....best by far !!
Was wondering if you've ever felt the need for power steering on your Lada?. I had to get out of the car at low speeds and do steering stood up to get more leverage on steering wheel as the Lada steering was like driving an old 1950's Seddon Atkinson lorry. So I fitted Vauxhall corsa EPAS, this also makes the steering column longer and with an aftermarket electronic adjuster you can twiddle a knob on your dashboard to make steering heavy as standard/off or very light like they is noting attached to the steering column.

I can supply you with deatails and cheap unit if you are intrested.

Quick Q about your new calipers: Is the 'join' pipe always in that position going over the top of the caliper?.

How do you know for certain that the system is 100% free of air bubbles? I thought the bleed nipples should be at the highest point.

I wanted to show you my Lada Brakes. These arn't obviously fitted so I can't say how well they work but they come highly recommended. These are German Made Master Sport ultimate Keramik, apparently the best on the market for Lada 2101-2107 (german made and very good quality) even the pistons are german master sport. I have seen Tarox sport Japan and Ferrodo DS but these are silly prices,If you want to spend over £300 GBP on just discs and pads you may aswell uprate to alloy four pot vented for an extra couple hundred pounds!

Anyway these ones only cost 75 euros and have got to be worth a try

what do you think

I'm no expert here but those look very nice indeed. I recently had my calipers off and wish they look like that.

They have a groove and cooling holes. Nice gear.
