So this season is over and best ET was 12.56 as seen in last post. (The car is currently ~1300kg, including me). For first season it went quite good.

Biggest problems were:
* Gearbox (broke 2)
* Megasquirt EFI (had some rpm spikes etc - fixed the problem)

Broke on 7000rpm.

Main shaft broke on start.

At last I had time to go to the dyno. Here is the dyno sheet. This is rwhp.

For next year i'm thinking to convert to th-350 automatic gearbox and make new 8valve head with more aggressive cams and bigger valves.

Hi Guy,

Intake cam is original.
Exhaust cam from Volumex (Bought from You).
Both degreed 110*.

Boost was 2 bar at 7500rpm. In 5400rpm 1,3 bar.
Intake temp was at start 15* and in end of pull 55*.

Thanks Indrek

Fantastic result from OE type cams - hope all the guys who want to do a cam-swap to 'upgrade' their turbo motor are watching this one.

Get that intake temp down though, 45 deg C tops. Spray water on the charge cooler..?

The intake temp cooling issue is in the todo list for next year. I have air-water cooler (barrel top of the picture), but currently the water supply lines are long and pumps can't push needed amount of water through the cooler.

Intake temperature:
example of one start.

Outside temperature was 25*
ET = 12.6 sec

Start 17.1*
End of first gear: 24.2*
End of second gear: 34.4*
End of third gear: 43.9*
End of fourth gear: 52.3*
Fifth gear; end of 402 meters 55.8*

5 seconds after finish: 36.7*
10 seconds after finish: 30.2*
15 seconds after finish: 27.3*
20 seconds after finish: 25.2*
30 seconds after finish: 22.1*
40 seconds after finish: 20.6*

Very impressive! I have really gotten the Lada bug since we got a 2105 Rally car . 1300 KGs though? It seems quite high?

Thanks.

Yes the car weight is too high, I have added some weight due to better traction, but currently it's to much. The rules say for 2.0 liter car with turbo must be more than 1100kg (including driver).

We plan to reduce weight replacing glass with lexan and some other mods.

Our car has Lexan side windows , stripped out interior , but with all rally gear such as rollcage , extinguishers and so on . All steel panels apart from a fibreglas bonnet and arch extensions . Homologation papers say 950 kg I think . Regardless , your car is very well engineered!

It's been quite a while now since posting some news here.

Last season went quite badly for us, we converted the Lada to Chevy th-350 gearbox and there were many issues, we did only one drag race.

This year we finished the car few weeks ago and at last we dyno tuned it a little.
Current engine specs are: (Other info is in first post )
*in 45mm / ex 38mm valves, ported
*Original Fiat Argenta 120ie intake and exchaust cam, degreed at 110 (we haven't tried other degrees yet)

Here is the graph:
Image

Here is visible two pulls, info on the right is on max hp.
From engine (calculated with automatic gearbox loss ~20%)
574Nm@3700 rpm
420hp (350rwhp) @ 5800 rpm

Also we paticipated in one dragrace, we did only 3 starts, best ET was 12.2s, but with 2.2sec 60ft and 188km/h trapspeed. We didn't get the power down in first gear, so the ET goal for this year is middle 11s.
Car weight 1250kg, because of the rules.
