Engine Rebore

Post by RobHart555 »

Hi All,

I have finally found the time to strip my 1800 TC engine which is in a kit car and was originally in a 132.
It had been standing for quite a few years so I am not surprised to find some corrosion damage in the bores, so it will need a rebore.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a trusted machine shop I can approach to get the necessary work done, I am in Kent(UK), the more local the better!
Also, I am hoping oversize pistons are still available, if so, what sizes?

Thanks in advance for any replies,

Rob.

Hello Rob

nice to see your posts it's been very quiet on the forum in recent months..

I recommend my expert friend Iain Swann who owns SMD near Sheppey- link below...

Iain is a super bloke and you trust him 100%

Thanks Guy, I’ll give them a try.

Are you able to advise on availability of oversize pistons? Are you able to supply these?

Thanks,

Rob.

NO!!!

All I supply are GC forged pistons made by JE

what you are seeking - virtually unobtainable.

Beware of US sourced cast alternatives.
