Hi everyone!
Building an Alfa Romeo 3.0 12V race engine. Std cyl-heads come with 44/38valves. These have the 9mm stem, and are pretty har to find.....
Looking for 46mm intakes w/9mm stem from any car-model.... Lenght an locks are not any concern as the Alfa valve is quite shot, 104,5mm, and the groove is the std R1,5 and easyli made in the CNC.
Thanks
Jarle

Hi Jarle!
Check our http://www.gozzoli.it
They have 46 mm valves with 8 mm stems 105 mm lenght. This also have 45` contact face on valves wich is good for flow (I think Your head has 30` contact face)
Take out the old valve guides and insert new ones from BMW - fits right in.
Regarding valve "locks" etc the valves are made to go with standard Fiat items.
This is my advice - for more info check with more knowledgable Alfisti than me.
Good luck!

Hello Jarle!
You can use BMW Valves and guides from 4-cylinder M10 engines and big-six M30 engines
The following info are from the Freccia Catalogue, you can also source them in TRW and Mahle Brands, should you want something more "upmarket"
Reference: Alfa V6 12v 3.0
Inlet Valve: 44x9x104.5mm, Alfa Romeo p/n 605129820
Inlet Guide: 49x9x14.07mm, Alfa Romeo p/n 605005940
1977 BMW 528i/628i/728i M30 Series Engine
Inlet Valve: 46x8x106.5mm, BMW p/n 11341273592
1981 BMW 318i/518i M10B18K Engine
Inlet Valve: 46x8x104mm, BMW p/n 11341254625
1976-82 BMW 633CSi/ 732i/ 733i M30B32 Engine
Inlet Valve: 46x8x106.5mm, BMW p/n 11341273592
Valve Guide to use is the same for any aforementioned BMW valve: 50x8x14.05mm, BMW p/n 111212663642
Hope you find this of help, I have a couple of friends who use BMW valves in these engines. The M10B18K Valve is of the "penny on a stick" design, If I remember correctly the six-cylinder cars have more radiused backsides. Which one gives best flow on these heads is a matter of debate I suppose, there has been lots of controversy on this, you can get one of each valve and try them on the flowbench to see which is better suited to your porting. Later in the day I can also provide BMW part numbers for valve collets and valve spring retainers, should you need them.
Best regards,
G.F.
