Hi Guy,
Hope this finds you well?

As you aware I’m new to the forum and have been battling to get technical help and sourcing parts,
I ended up at “Walkers” and have ordered the necessary internal parts for a very strong motor? (well that’s what I believe)

1)Balanced and lightened steel crank.
2) Steel Rods (Arrow)
3) Forged Pistons (Cosworth)

Please assist with advice regarding the latter and with the necessary mods to end up with a motor producing +/- 200 kW? (Weekend Car – Fast Road and Track)

Hi Guy,

Honestly, I never knew that you supplied/sold spares etc, I would of definitely used you. Your advice and experience is invaluable to the likes of us who don’t have the latter and have made the decision to spend this sort of money on our vehicles.

I’ve been requesting info and advice for a while (From the Lancia spare dealers), regarding what I need to do to achieve these figures or similar realistic one’s, without any real results, thus my decision to join your forum. The spares were ordered on the 20th after a long wait on the exchange rate.

I gained access to the forum on Friday the 21st.

Nevertheless, I’ll appreciate any help possible and promise to use you for the balance of spares.

Understood!

200kW being (I think) about 270 bhp:

fully gasflowed head with race valve-seat grind and atmo 2l inlet cam with standard type turbo and boost should take you there comfortably.

Mind you the current engine management will not work! You would have to change to an aftermarket system and that is going to cost a small fortune in equipment and calibration.

You can't change anything that alters the airflow without recalibration of the fuelling - the ecu cannot do that instinctively.

What would a head like that cost? (Without a service return)

Could I change the chip on the existing ECU with a different map (Eprom) ?

address, yes, thanks to the helpful lady who talk my call.

Chip? No way. I know where you are coming from on that one!! All you can do with a chip is enrich globally and remove the overboost. That can lead to demise of engine.

I am kinda tempted to say do not tune it - unless you can follow the instructions in my last in SA..

May be some real pro out there with equipment to supply and calibrate DTA Omex or Motec, dunno...

Hi Guy,

What I understand is, that we will be under fueling and end up with a mixture too lean?

With a new ecu and a re-map, will I need to increase my fuel pressure?

Hello Guy,
This is an interesting post.
Are you suggesting that It's a waste of time trying to remap the existing Marelli P8 ECU. I have found a few people who do it and admittedly there aren't many experts out there most have experience of it from Cosworth Escorts and Sierra's.
Would it just be easier to go for an aftermarket one ?
Des my Q4 which has Delta running gear has an adjustable Weber fuel regulator although I'm not sure just how far it can be adjusted. Does the Delta have the same type or is it a fixed type?

Hi Leo,

Mine is a fixed type (Not sure the make) nevertheless, I’m planning to change it when I replace the fuel pump. (Upgraded one, higher flow rate and pressure)
