Re: http://www.sportspider.co.uk/

Thanks Nils - I might look into this a bit further. I've seen mixed reports so far.

And thanks Guy - I'll look him up. I'll have to pop across and see you for a coffee and a chat.

Re: http://www.sportspider.co.uk/

Hi Guy and Cos, I'm still here! In no particular order, there were a number of things which conspired against me including renewal, PC dying (losing renewal and log-in details), getting fed up with manually removing 100s of spam registrations each week, spam email, changing ISP and email accounts et...

Thanks Guy - I didn't have a clue what you wrote but it all sounded good to me. I could definitely find a home for one of these manifolds if they stock them. I think from looking at the site that they probably do.

I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped with this especially Chuck and Andy who have both sent several photos which really help me to understand the OE set-up.

Thanks again!

Ben

Thanks for all the info so quickly guys. Csaba - if you could email me some pics of your conversion that would be great. My email address is branda@sportspider.wanadoo.co.uk . How did you get around the steering shaft problem - some people seem to add a third universal joint whereas others have exte...

Andy - just spotted this. Your car looks/sounds great. As Guy says, I'm converting my LHD Spider to rack and pinion and would really like to see how it was done on the 1985 Spiders. Is there any chance you could take some pics of the set up? The thread is at http://guy-croft.com/viewtopic.php?t=587 ...

At http://www.gb-motorentechnik.de they sell a 4-1 for the 124 with rack-and-pinion steering, even with T’…œV (I think). Thomas Thomas - I could really do with a manifold that works with a 2l in a 124 Spider with rack and pinion and that link looks good. Unfortunately, I don't speak any German...

Thanks Guy I've seen these drawings but only smaller versions so that's useful. Andy Lewis has also emailed me a pic of the crossmember from a Seat 124 Coupe which might have been the same as the late Pinin Spider's (although I think the mounting "tabs" would foul the sump on the Spider?)....

124 Spider Rack and Pinion

Dear All I'm in the process of converting my LHD Fiat 124 Spider to rack and pinion. I've got an LHD rack and rods from one of the very late Pinin Spiders but that's about it so far. I know quite a few people have done the conversion but usually with 131 or Alfa racks. I haven't found anyone yet who...
